Helen Allen-Burt is the owner of the green gables design studio and brand. You can find out more about her on the About us page.

2. Where did the name the green gables come from?

The inspiration for the name ‘the green gables’ came from the great book ‘Anne of Green Gables’ by LM Montgomery. A fabulous book which is in part about an imaginative, creative and curious mind. This, coupled with a commitment to reduce the environmental impact of our products, made the green gables a perfect name to reflect the designs and ethos held close to the heart of the business.

3. What makes your products green?

We strive to reduce our impact on the planet at work and at home. Wherever possible sustainable materials are used in the production of the green gables products. We always use either Recycled or FSC paper stock in our products and recycled tissue and parcel paper, recycled card envelopes and boxes, and compostable clear bags are used in packaging. If the packaging isn’t recycled it can certainly be reused, such as the bubble envelopes. Through the green gables products you are supporting sustainable practices and your item has been made with minimal environmental impact. You can find out more on the About us page.
